CHARLA: Becoming a Latina Founder

Angeles Investors hosts the latest installment of CHARLAs with Latinx founders and entrepreneurs.

Venture capital funding for female founders is a historically challenging environment. In 2019 sole-female founders accounted for 7.7% of VC deal flow, while female/male co-founded startups accounted for 15% of deal flow. Further, for the funded deals, White and Asian Women raised 14.8x more capital (or $41bn) than African American and Latina Women. Yet Latinas are beating the odds, sharing their stories, and encouraging other Latinas to begin their own startup journey.
